Philip Zimbardo shows how people become monsters ... or heroes

not who is responsible, but what is responsible

dispositional: the individuals: the bad apples
situational: external: the bad barrel
Systematic: broad influence: political, economic, legal power: The bad barrel makers

if you want to change the person you have to change the situation, if you want to change the situation you have to change the system

15 volts, he doesnt even feel it. thats the key, all evil starts at 15 volts

the same situation that can inspire evil in some can inspire heroism in others

how do we teach heroism?

heroism doent need to be in the extremes, it can be everyday people.

to be a hero you have to learn to be a deviant, because your always going agains the group

keys to heroism, act when other people are passive and socio-centrically, not egocentrically
